Young and in love, Reg and Dorothy Calvert married when just 18 in postwar England. With little money and no home, Reg bought an old bus and converted it into a caravan. They travelled south from Huddersfield to Hedge End and lived in an apple orchard for 3 years.Reg tried many ways to earn a living, including making popcorn, having a sweet shop and becoming a radio and television engineer.
For Dorothy, life with Reg was like being on a roller coaster with many ups and downs. His head was full of ideas and she did her best to support him through the good and bad times. When he first heard Bill Haley's Rock Around the Clock, he had a dream to bring Rock 'n' Roll to England. (And he did)
Currently being redesigned and edited, with dyslexia in mind and line drawings that can be coloured in.
Christopher felt a strangeness while standing under three lightning trees in the old castle ruins. His sister teased him to make a wish to go back to the past, never expecting it to come true.
Bewildered, Christopher discovers he has arrived in the year 1266. It is a horrible time with famine and battles. Captured by Lord Henry de Hastings, he is marched to Kenilworth Castle and set to work. When the castle is besieged by King Henry III, there seems no escape.
Desperate to rescue her brother, Andrea asks Grumple for help. He says he is a 'sort' of wizard and suggests she finds the Witch of Crackley Woods.
